Doing things because you need to takes the fun away. We all know that we need to drink water to survive. At some point in this life, you will get distracted by all of the other amazingly creative beverages our world has to offer.
I mean, what genius figured out that lemons could taste well? I know we have all lost our way but I am here to help you get back to drinking water on a more consistent basis.
You know the way your body wishes you would.
The function of our skin is to protect our bodies from the outside world. You need to take care of it from the inside and water is one of those solutions for a healthy body.
I have a few tips that I picked up to help me drink more water and now I am sharing the knowledge.
Tip #1: Only drink water
If you have gotten to the point where each time you eat a meal you need a soda, juice, or something that isn’t 100% agua then it is time for a break.
Limit your body to drinking only water while at work/home/school in the beginning. As you become more of a water-consuming pro take it out completely.
Try different brands of water to see what taste you do or do not like.
With time you’ll be drinking non-water beverages as an occasional thing.
Tip #2: Set Goals
Setting goals for anything allows you to be more intentional. If you set goals to finish four regular size bottles of water before you leave work at 4 pm then you will make a plan to achieve that goal.
An example of a helpful tool that helps with water drinking-related goals is those guided water bottles with the measurements of the time of day.
They are fun to have and show you how much you should be drinking.
P.S. Setting timers during the day are a great reminder to drink up.
Tip #3: Add Flavor
Using fruit and other alternatives can help to spice up that water and make drinking a lot more fun. I like the refreshing taste of cucumbers in my water.
You can use any type of fruit or vegetable that you like. Also, you could add any type of water enhancer to make the taste mimic what you normally drink.
Tip #4: Drink Water When You Get Up and Lie Down
Make the first and last thing of your day drinking a glass of water. This makes sure you replenish all the water you lost while sleeping and experiencing the day.
It will also get you into a habit that can encourage more water drinking.
Tip #5: Drink Water With Every Meal
Each time that you sit down to eat drink a bottle or glass of water. This will help to fill up your belly, increase water consumption, and train your tastebuds.
A lot of times when people aren’t drinking enough water they say “It doesn’t have a taste.”
If we could train our minds to think that no taste is good then you will find it easier to drink more water.
I hope each of these tips is of use. Feel free to share anything that you do to help you drink more water. I could always use some inspiration.
